The different item was sent. Doesn't match description and photos. Unusable, doesn't cover all strings. I never ordered any "short-cut" versions. Requested the refund.
I bought the first Electric version to come out. It didn't have the E printed on it, but it was definitely electric. It lasted 10 days shy of a year, then the next, a year and 3 months. In all cases the spring failed and broke., now I am ordered #3 & #4 of the Sunburst, and have them in my gig cases. How often do you plan for it to fail? I clearly use them more than normal, but I just don't understand the failure rate being acceptable.I play daily. I bought one of the first Kysers available and it is still fine (80's), so if I don't keep breaking these E's at the rate I am, I will have to go back to the original, which I suppose is now the Acoustic version? It's a shame, I have purchased 6 since March of 2022. Prior to that, as I sad, it was the 80's and it is still fine. What's happened? Clearly the spring wire is in need of a hell of a lot more testing and durability. I can't imagine one failing during a performance. I'm not sure what I would do, carry a spare? p.s. I do, because I have shaky trust in your product at the moment.Honestly, could you please send me some spare E capos. Black or whatever is fine. I clearly love the product and think it performs better than anything out there. I have every quick change high end capo within reason. The Kyser's have always been my #1. Yea, I think after that sales pitch of being a loyal customer for over 45 years, I'm due a few free replacements. I could use a 12 string, and a bunch of electrics.Warmest Regards, and I hope a bit more duty cycle spring emerges. Though guaranteed $25/yr, works better for your bottom line.Terry.
Works very well with a number of my guitars with different fretboards, including an old acoustic (not completely flat but large radius), and several electrics - one about 12" and one around 9" radius. All work as they should, with a clear sound. The closer you put it to the fret, the better, as with most capos.I'm used to the Dunlop style capo, which is more discreet (the mechanism is around the back of the neck) whereas this Kyser is more visible, at the side. I understand the theory that it keeps the capo away from the fretting hand, but I'm still getting used to the look! There are much cheaper capos out there, but this has a lifetime guarantee from an established brand, so a worthy investment.
I was very impressed by this little capo, especially because I bought it for my electric guitars but it works great on my acoustic as well. The tension is just right and the quality is definitely there. I'm really glad I finally invested in a good capo! The only thing I wish is that it came in additional colors... perhaps it does but Amazon only seemed to offer it in black.
I like the look of the “tool”. It looks READY, to go to work, to perform its task, to rest but be reliable, when asked.
While technically it functions as intended, it is common practice to clip the capo on the headstock of your guitar when not in use. (Even shown in their stock photos) The metal on the end of this capo where it bends down, extends past the rubber padding, and will scratch the finish of your guitar. I think I will try the accoustic version as the thicker padding on that version seems to remedy this problem, despite the damage already being done.
Have always used a Keyser capo, this one labeled on one side Fender and the other Keyser, and it matches my Tele. Love it❣️ You will too.
Quite happy with my purchase. This has been my first capo ever and I’m certainly pleased with the quality.
I tried a few capos and this was by far best for electric guitars. I also have a separate acoustic version which has a slightly stronger tension, I don’t use them much, but now feel good about both kyser’s and don’t see a reason to look for better.
ギターの塗装がカポのゴムにくっついて剥がれてしまいました。。。
Terrible capo, far too much pressure on the neck and throws it way out of tune.
The capo tension is too high, my Tele with Boomer 9s goes sharp. The package said electric guitar, maybe an acoustic capo was mistakenly put in the wrong package. I can't use it, just wasted 20 bucks...
As mentioned by another reviewer - it seems you receive a random Kyser capo rather than the one specified.
The Kyser capo I found did it's job perfectly well but the fact that I have quite large hands and with the lever being so large I have found that my hand fouled the capo when playing certain chords, having said that I would add that the capo did it's job perfectly well and being able to shift it one handed was a huge bonus.I personally will persevere with it as it.B Hearn.
The capo barely opens wide enough to fit on the neck of a Stratocaster. As if that weren't bad enough, I've got an acoustic guitar Kyser partial capo that has less spring tension than this one. I don't know what kind of electric guitar this was designed for, but on a Stratocaster it mashes the strings so tightly that every string is sharp. The further you go up the neck, the worse it gets.
A really nice, well made capo, but I found the spring so strong that I needed two hands to operate it. So unfortunately I had to return it.So great if you've got big, strong hands, not so good if you haven't.All credit to Amazon and the seller though as the return/refund was quick and easy
Maybe I still have to get used to it but, I find it difficult to get the high E string on my Strat to sit properly under the capo.
This capo is okay. Be careful as it puts a lot of tension on your neck. It presses down so hard that it can wear your frets after time. I use a G7th now which I like much better.
始めてカポ買ったから、比較対象がないけど、期待通りでしたよかったです
The spring tension is to extreme on this capo. It smashes all the strings clear down to the fret board on my electric causing some strings to be sharper than others and as such, out of tune. Only if it is placed literally on the fret, but back just enough so as not to mute the strings do you get satisfactory results. Very annoying if you are trying to put it on quickly between songs in a live performance setting. Also annoying that this big contraption is right on the fret and somewhat in the way while fretting the "now 1st fret". Returned this and bought the SHUBB C1k with spring tension adjustment. It simulates the natural pressure of a finger, and can be placed in the middle area between frets. No fuss. They also make another model for vintage necks with more extreme radius. The C1 fits my James Tyler 14 degree perfectly.
The spring is tighter than what my previous Kyser electric capo had. When I did bends on strings, sometimes the strings would get stuck in the bent position where the capo is. Next time, I would likely look for a capo with adjustable tension..
今まで使っていたカポは着けると20cent位上がりましたがフレットギリギリで行くと殆どチューニングが合っているので非常に楽に変更出来ます。最近よくPVで観るのも納得しました。
